The inaugural Best New Player award went to Titan Poker Team member Sam Trickett. 2010 was a stand out year for Trickett as we witnessed his dominance across major European and US events. From his win at PartyPoker’s World Open to his hard earned fourth place finish at the EPT Vilamoura in Portugal, Trickett never missed an opportunity to show the world poker community that he was serious about establishing himself as one of the best new players.

His combined winnings from his in the money finishes in 2010 stood at over $400,000. In the World Open, he joined 48 other top poker pros that put up $10,000 of their own money to compete. PartyPoker – Masiff Ownich wins Online Cash Game Championships

Masiff Ownich of Slovenia has just been announced as the winner of PartyPoker’s Online Cash Games Championship. Throughout the history of the PartyPoker website there had never been such an intense tournament as this one. Ownich beat out his rivals by playing more than 400 hands per tournament level over a month long period.

Student poker is one of the biggest trends to hit the university demographic in years. Millions of college student participate in university organized events every day, which happens to be the gateway activity to real money cash poker play online.

As a result, national student poker tournaments have been established to accommodate this growing market including the North West Student Poker Championship and the UK Student Poker Championship (UKSPC). A recent graduate of Manchester University, Aden Levin, has initiated the Entourage Student Poker (ESP), the UK’s only live student-based poker brand.

Levin’s group came to be initially as a place for student poker players to gather in Manchester after the official University Poker Society was banned when the University of Manchester discovered the society was playing for cash.
