Phil Ivey Profile

: Phil Ivey
: 34
: United States
: Full Tilt Poker
WSOP : 3 times world champ
: $11000000

Phil Ivey was born in 1976 in Riverside, California. He was introduced to poker after moving to New Jersey, and began making regular trips to Atlantic City - even using a fake ID to play in casinos that didn’t allow minors. He won his first World Series of Poker title in 1999 in the pot-Limit Omaha event, mowing through such stiff competition as Phil Hellmuth and Amarillo Slim. He continued his meteoric rise by placing high in several major tournaments over the next couple years, including three WSOP bracelets in 2002, another in 2005, and two more in 2009. As of this writing he has also made the final table of the 2009 WSOP main event, to be played in November, which has earned him at least another $1.2 million. Like many of his ilk, Ivey is a golf enthusiast; he managed a third place finish in the first ever World Series of Golf, which is a golf/poker hybrid tournament that requires players to bet or “fold” on each hole. With over $11,000,000 in career earnings, Ivey is widely considered to be one of the most feared players in the tournament circuit today.
