: Full Tilt Poker
WSOP : 3 times world champ
: $11000000

Eduard Scharf was born in Cologne, Germany in 1953. When he first saw poker, he was under the impression that it was only a game of luck. However, during a trip to Vegas he looked a little closer and noticed that the same players would consistently win; this piqued his interest in the game and he began to study it casually in his spare time. He began playing professionally in 1995, due mostly to the fact that the poker boom hit Europe around this time, enabling him to play without being forced to travel out of the country. After several years of booking consistent wins on his home turf, Scharf traveled back to Vegas in 2001 and managed to win his first World Series of Poker Bracelet by beating such pros as Allen Cunningham and David Sklansky in the $1,500 limit Omaha event; he would win the same event again in 2003. Scharf has since amassed over $1 million in tournament earnings, and in his spare time is a regular commentator for German sport television.
