PartyPoker – Masiff Ownich wins Online Cash Game Championships
Masiff Ownich of Slovenia has just been announced as the winner of PartyPoker’s Online Cash Games Championship. Throughout the history of the PartyPoker website there had never been such an intense tournament as this one. Ownich beat out his rivals by playing more than 400 hands per tournament level over a month long period.The newly crowned poker champ received a first prize of $40,000 for his gargantuan effort. As this was the inaugural version of the event, Ownich is the first ever player to win this title.
When asked about his victory he remarked:
“I am really excited to be the Online Cash Game Champion. I had a lot of my friends watching me play the final table and their support definitely helped. I won a couple of big all-in pots early on and that helped to calm my nerves and to build a sizeable chip stack.”
Indeed, winning big early in cash games is an important strategy for players looking to make it to the final table. The large bankroll that Ownich built up at the beginning of the tournament played itself out nicely for him.
